It's good but there is room for improvement. The rice is what could use the most improvements. It is mainly white and has very little seasoning and has been overcooked and mushy every time we have been. The salsa and chips are good and the fajitas and other combinations type plates are good. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is better than most Mexican restaurants and is cozy and the lighting is turned down just a touch. Soft drinks are $2.50 a piece so that's a little high and the price of the food is consistent with most restaurants of this type or possibly a touch higher. So overall a pretty good Mexican restaurant in a small town with plenty of seating and still cozy. The main thing that needs to be fixed is the rice which could be easily fixed if anyone actually cared to stop turning out the same bad dish. Our friends who ate with us thought the same thing about the rice and it's always consistent. Consistently bad.

Went yesterday for Mother’s Day and the owner was our waitress. Didn’t give us a ticket with our food on it so we went up front to pay. Told my boyfriend it was $42 and some change. Didn’t think much about it til later when it was apparently too late. Owner stated that she did give him his change back when we know she didn’t. Our food was $24. Ridiculous. Love being called a liar straight to my face. Never going back.

Do yourself a favor and stop here. Just do it. Every time I'm in Rogersville I stop here, hungry or not. The house margaritas taste fresh and delicious!!! Draft beer is always cold and ready, and that elephant foot mug? Whoa. I'm going to be a little basic here but the salsa and rice are ON POINT! It's easy to make a good taco salad or chimichanga but you can tell the real meat of a place by some of the most elementary things, and these guys nailed it! I jokingly asked our hostess if she was Sofia, and she replied "no, she's my daughter" ... that's a green flag right there. Never heard of a green flag? That's the opposite of a red flag. It means go.

For the most part the food is always good. There have been a few times when they are very busy that the food hasn't been as good... basically, it was filled with too many onions and had that oniony smell and taste. 9 out of 10 times it is always good though. Plus. You get free cheese dip!

First of ordered cheese dip an when it arrived to our table cold. Next my wife ordered the chimanga meal one beef and one chicken . The chicken one was good but when she cut into the beef found that the beef was so raw it totally soaked the flour wrap with beef blood. We showed it to our server and he showed the manager. She came to our table and told us that us that it was the type of roast they used and was supposed to be that way. So unless you want to risk food poisoning I would avoid eating at Sofia's in Rogersville Al
